Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 August 2026

Kakiya respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over it under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

For the purposes of UK data protection law, Kakiya is the data controller of your personal information. You can contact us at any time at contact@meloriafrance.com.

1. Information We Collect

  • Order information: name, delivery and billing address, email address, phone number, and details of the products you purchase.
  • Payment information: processed securely by Shopify Payments and our payment providers. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Browsing information: cookies and similar technologies collect device data, IP address and browsing behaviour to make the site work and improve your experience.

2. How We Use Your Information, and Our Legal Basis

  • To process and deliver your orders and send order and tracking notifications โ€” performance of a contract.
  • To provide customer support and process refunds under our 90-day money-back guarantee โ€” performance of a contract.
  • To send marketing emails, only where you have opted in โ€” consent. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email.
  • To measure advertising performance and improve the store โ€” consent for non-essential cookies, legitimate interests for aggregate analytics.
  • To detect fraud and comply with legal and tax obligations โ€” legal obligation and legitimate interests.

3. Sharing Your Information

We share data only with the service providers required to run this store: Shopify (hosting and payments), Royal Mail and our fulfilment partners, our email service provider, and advertising platforms where you have consented. We never sell your personal information.

4. International Transfers

Some of our service providers are located outside the United Kingdom. Where personal data is transferred abroad, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or on the International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses to ensure your data receives an equivalent level of protection.

5. How Long We Keep Your Data

Order and transaction records are kept for 6 years to meet UK tax and accounting obligations. Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe. Browsing and analytics data is kept for up to 26 months.

6. Cookies

Cookies are used for essential store functions (cart, checkout), for analytics, and โ€” with your consent โ€” for advertising measurement. You can manage or refuse non-essential cookies through the consent banner or your browser settings. Refusing them will not prevent you from placing an order.

7. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email contact@meloriafrance.com. We will respond within one month.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF โ€” ico.org.uk โ€” or by calling 0303 123 1113.
